Why I participate in Alpe d'HuZes?

My family recently lost someone very dear to us. The reality of loss hits hardest when you realize you can no longer laugh, talk, or share life together - the plans that never come to fruition, the meals you can no longer share, and all the simple moments that made family life so meaningful.

It changes how you see time, health, and what truly matters. If suffering like this can be prevented or delayed, it would mean the world - not just for patients, but for the families who stand beside them.

At SFR, I see every day how research can make a real difference in improving lives, whether through better livestock production or healthier communities. That same belief in the power of research drives me to join Alpe d’HuZes this year, supporting vital cancer research that gives patients a fighting chance and hope for the future.

Every climb, every donation, every step counts. Together, we can turn grief into hope, and loss into progress - for those we love, and for those still fighting.

Winter Walk on Valentine's Day

Thursday 19th Feb
On February 14, 2026, I joined the 8th BIG Challenge Gelderse Vallei Winter Walk with my teammates Ivonne & Evert. Together we completed the 10 km route through Hoef, Hell, & Huinen. The event was organised by BIG Challenge Gelderse Vallei. The walk was a meaningful step in our preparation for Alpe d'Huzes.
