Why I participate in Alpe d'HuZes?
Together with three dear friends, I’m going to partake in Alpe d’HuZes, a charity event that has the lofty goal of raising money for cancer research (https://www.kwf.nl/en/dutchcancersociety). The spread of this horrible disease continues to gain pace and like so many of us, various of my loved ones, including family members and friends, either had/have this disease or, sadly, succumbed to it.
In remembrance of those who suffered from this disease, in support of those who’re currently having it, and in the hope that better medication may be developed so as to cure present and future patients, I endeavour to raise money by mounting my trusty bike and climbing the mighty Alpe d’Huez on June 4, 2026. Ideally, I'll manage to reach the summit several times but I dare not make any promises let alone give any guarantees about that ;)
Irrespective of my actual achievements on that fateful day, please donate generously, but also know that every contribution is deeply appreciated.
