Why I participate in Alpe d'HuZes
On June 4th, I will take on the challenge of climbing Alpe d’Huez at least three times in one day. Not because it’s easy, but because it matters.
Cancer is something that touches all of us in one way or another. It affects friends, family, colleagues, people we care deeply about. Like many others, I have seen the impact up close. The uncertainty, the fight, the strength it demands. That’s what drives me to take on this challenge.
Alpe d’Huez is known for its 21 legendary bends. Climbing it once is tough. Doing it a minimum of three times is a true test of physical and mental endurance. But compared to what people with cancer go through every single day, this challenge is small.
With every turn of the pedals, I want to contribute to something bigger: better research, improved treatments, and ultimately, more lives saved. That’s why I’m not just riding for myself, I’m riding to raise as much money as possible in the fight against cancer.
I will push myself to the limit, because giving up is not an option. Not for me on that mountain, and certainly not for those battling cancer.
